Detra Chambliss

Detra Chambliss is a client currently living in Austin, Texas. After running a non-profit in Mexico for over 20 years, she ran into unfortunate circumstances upon her return to Texas and fell into homelessness. She was very excited to join the Bridge to Wellness program, having felt that her mental well-being was creating a barrier to her success. Since she's been receiving therapy, she has been ecstatic, sharing how much she is enjoying the sessions and how supported she feels.

Nakeeta Wisdom

Nakeeta Wisdom has, for some time, rotated through shelters in Austin. Her biggest issue was that she didn't feel supported anywhere and got stuck in the negative feedback loop that homelessness causes. During the program, she told us, "I like you guys. You guys are different because it seems like you guys actually care about me." Recently, she finished counseling and said she is not only ready but excited to get back on track and is actively searching for a job. We've been staying in touch and working with her and are very excited about what she can accomplish.
